Hello families
I hope you have all managed to have some good times during the holidays.

On Monday we will have a new Year 3, Emily, to welcome to our class. I know she will soon feel part of the team.

This term our topic is ‘Once Upon A Time - Ka Tahi te Wà’. 
On Wednesday we're going to see a performance of  'Puss in Boots - Pet Detective'. This will be in our school hall.

Junior Kapahaka starts week 2 so permission slips need to be returned this week please. The children are working towards the 'Kids in Town' performances at the Art Gallery. This is an initiative organised by the City Council and will be in Term 3.
Enjoy the last few days of the holidays. See you next week.

Congratulations Lincoln - 'Player of the Year' in his cricket team!

We also used waxed paper, some autumn leaves and the iron to create some beautiful creations for the window. We hope you are able to pop in to see them.

On Friday during Discovery time the children made toast.

Karen supervised the toaster, but then it was up to the children to butter it and add a spread of their choice. 

It was delicious!

Yesterday Jo and Celia came for our last class recorder session for the term. 

They brought a selection of recorders to show us.

Celia taught us how to play 'Rain, Rain Go Away' ... and it has worked!!!!!

We played 'Hot Cross Buns' together.

We also played a duet to say 'thank you' to Jo for coming.

Next term Jo will be back to teach recorder to a small group. Children who are interested are able to audition for a place. 

We are very fortunate there is no cost for these lessons.
