The children received individual replies from their letters to Santa today! Santa is fortunate to have some elves at NZ Post to help him out.

It was great to see so many families at the picnic on Friday evening.
The water slide did look appealing.

We had a great time at our Showcase Concert. Thank you to the families who were able to come along to enjoy our show.

Today we were very lucky to have a visit from St Nicholas via Cesar's Mum, Oana.
In Eastern Europe the children celebrate St Nicholas on 6th December. St Nicholas delivers presents to children who have been good and a stick for children who should have made a better choice! Oana says the presents are left in the windows so this morning there were some presents in the windows!

We also had our first performance of our Showcase Concert today.
There is a repeat performance tomorrow.

Vianne, Leo and Ashveer were winners in a SCAPE Art Competiton.
We picked up the forms during our trip to town.
Carolyne from SCAPE Art complimented all Room 8 children on their work.

We received a lovely response from Buckingham Palace!
We sent the Queen and Prince Philip a card to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary and they (a lady-in-waiting) replied.

Families are invited to the Junior Showcase Concert on Wednesday 6^th and Thursday 7^th December at 2pm in the Hall.

The performance is the same both days so please choose the day that suits you best to come along to enjoy some singing, recorder playing, and Kapahaka.

Cesar enjoyed some time at the beach at the weekend.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Show Weekend break.

Our swimming days are Tuesday and Thursday. I will use my 'Mum' hat if I think it is too chilly, so please send tog bags each swimming day.
If your child is not swimming please let me know.

We were lucky to have a long weekend. I hope you enjoyed some family time.
Eve had a fun time at Orton Bradley Park.

  I have a friend in Canada who lives near astronaut, Chris Hadfield and she thought it would be awesome if she could arrange a Skype call with us. This is what she emailed us..
 I heard back from Chris Hadfield 's People and was told Chris has no plans to visit New Zealand  as of yet and and to do a Skype call with students it takes up to 2 years to get on the list.
I think that is probably a bit too long to wait.

We've all settled back into school this term.

We had a busy Discovery time on Friday.
Lily brought her rabbit, Lightening to visit. He visited us earlier in the year and we found he has really grown! He likes walking on his lead!

Then we found out about Diwali - the Indian Festival of Lights. Ashveer was able to share some experiences with us. The children enjoyed painting and colouring Rangoli patterns.

Kaila and Kendra came to help us plant some 'Little Gardens'. When they sprout we will transplant the seedlings into the garden behind the old dental clinic.
